Can I Travel To Turks And Caicos During The Covid-19 Pandemic If I Am Not Vaccinated?

Key information for travelers to the Turks and Caicos Islands. Make sure you are up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines before traveling to the Turks and Caicos Islands. If you are not up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines, avoid traveling to the Turks and Caicos Islands. Recommended for unvaccinated travelers one year or older going to the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The Turks and Caicos Islands are open to tourism. A TCI-insured travel authorization, insurance, or COVID-19 test is no longer required. Most of the COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, apart from the requirement that visitors be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to enter the islands. If you haven't completed a series of COVID-19 vaccines, you should continue to avoid non-essential travel to all destinations.

Use the same common sense when traveling abroad as you would at home, and always be alert and aware of your environment. All visitors 18 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated with all doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before arrival. Restrictions are in place for some visitors to Cheshire Hall Medical Center and Cockburn Town Medical Center to reduce the risk of transmitting COVID-19 to vulnerable people.

Unvaccinated travelers who are over 40 years of age, are immuno-compromised, or have chronic medical conditions who plan to leave for a risk area in less than 2 weeks should receive the initial dose of the vaccine and receive immunoglobulin at the same appointment. The risk is higher among children, travelers who go to rural areas, travelers who visit friends and family, or those who travel for a long period of time. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has determined that the Turks and Caicos Islands have a high level of COVID-19. Read the country information page for additional information on travel to the Turks and Caicos Islands. From a foreign country, you are required to show a negative COVID-19 viral test result taken no more than one (day) prior to travel, or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 in the last ninety (90) days, before boarding your flight.

While there is no quarantine requirement when entering Turks and Caicos, people who show symptoms or test positive for COVID-19 should quarantine. Being fully vaccinated means that the person has received 2 doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine and 14 days have elapsed since the second dose. Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, restrictions and regulations may change without notice; before you travel, carefully and regularly review the guidance directly from the TCI Government on the TCI Tourism TCI Assured page, as well as from your travel providers (airlines, hotels, etc.) to protect you from many diseases in Turks and Caicos Islands, so their behaviors are important. Your airline will check your vaccination status at check-in and upon arrival in the Turks and Caicos Islands by immigration officials.
